FEED FOR PIGEONS
Feeding of your pigeons is so important to their good health. There are lots of different feed combinations and feed manufacturers. There are specialty feeds for breeding, racing, showing, and more. I am talking about fanciers who want to feed the best available, based on your pocketbook. Using pigeon’s pellets is the answer for many, and especially during breeding season. Pellets have everything a baby in the nest needs, and has only one drawback. The droppings are always softer than normal. If you want to feed the same thing year round, as I do, the answer is a good quality, clean mixed, grain feed containing popcorn or small yellow corn with a protein level of 14-15%. Do not leave feed in the feeders overnight. Use feeders that stay as clean as possible. Prevent the pigeons from roosting on the feeders.
