#583 TERRAMYCIN OINTMENT - 1/8 OZ.

I only just recently had enough money to build my medicine cabinet for my birds up properly, and this was one of the purchases I made, in a just-in-case sort of scenario. My Lucerne pair just had their first clutch a couple weeks back, and the parents took to their job with a shocking eagerness - checking on the peeps on Day 2, a mistake was made and the father managed to catch his peep's neck while attempting to fend me and my mother's hands off his nest, causing a cut on the peep. After making sure the bleeding wasn't bad (we bought kwik-stop in the same purchase, so I was prepared to run in and grab that if necessary) we decided a little antibiotic ointment on the cut couldn't hurt. Smeared a little on, carefully replaced the kiddo - baby is now 17 Days old and growing like a weed. Probably would have been fine without the ointment, but it made ME feel better. Knowing that if my birds ever give each other a more serious cut I had something to keep infection bay is a balm to my worries.
