#764 PINE STRAW, BALE

Foys has sold tobacco stems for decades, but in 2020, the tobacco stems available were not of the quality we expected so we discontinued the product. I searched the internet to find a product and after many attempts, I found a great replacement, the Texas Long Stem Pine Straw. I have been using the Pine Straw with all of my breeding pairs and I am very pleased with them. Each bale weighs approximately 12 lbs. There is no waste. I grab a fairly small hand full and create a circle of stems that fit the nest bowl. Once formed in a circle they remain this shape. A pair that builds its own nest, will create the circle of pine straw. If you have ever found a wild birds nest on the ground or in a tree that is exactly what you think of when your pigeon nest is created. There is little to no waste, because when you get to the bottom of the box, just take a handful of the pieces and place it in a nest bowl. Something else you can do is add Diatomaceous Earth(#765) to the bowl, under the pine straw, which will help reduce mites and lice. Clay nest bowl not included.
