7'" Fiber N'pads
I buy fiber and not felt for several reasons. 1. Fiber, like birds fluffing up feathers in the cold, should hold more warm air/warmth under the squabs - importantly at the that vulnerable time of about 2-3 weeks when the Cock is not setting as much, and working on the next nest. 2. I've not "washed for reuse" as some suppliers suggest for the felt as well, but even with that plus the wear and tear of squabs sharp toenails, I doubt that's worth it. 3. I like the 7" size. They cover the right amount of bottom for the squabs, yet allow me to place 4 duct tape spots around the edges for stability. (I use the traditional, cupped plastic nestbowls - roughly 2 1/2 " high. 4. Foy's price/value is competitive after considering all those other variables.
