The handle allows you to handle easier and also hang from the ceiling to prevent from fouling. The handle on the inside piece allows you to hold easily while filling. Will freeze without breaking but allow to thaw. P.M. Drinker 3 Qts.

Easy to handle and carry, assembled or unassembled. Would prefer wider, shorter profile, more stable.

Such an improvement
I had previously used waterers purchased from a local feed store. They were constantly getting dirty and the water was always getting droppings in it because the birds would sit on top. All of that is eliminated with this drinker. A very useful item that is very modestly priced.
