#3504 HEATED NEST BOWL 10 1/2 in.I live in cold climate, and every year I lose a few young due to the freezing weather. The Heated Nest Bowl is a great answer to raising young in colder weather. The bowls have a 6 foot heavy duty cord and are quite heavy. The bowl gets warm, not hot, and when plugged in, stay at a constant warm temperature. Heated Nest Bowls are available in two sizes, the 9 in. size is the standard size of most nest bowls and we also have available the 10 1/2 in. nest bowl, meant to be used for the larger breeds. If you have a few special pairs you would like to start breeding early, the bowl will help guarantee success. I would suggest the use of some sand at the bottom of the bowl, sand retains and distributes heat. You may also use whatever nesting material you normally use. Easy to clean, heavy and will not move. The bowls are just about unbreakable, made of a very heavy plastic. The bowls are a bit expensive but will last a lifetime. What is a very special pair of young worth? Power source: AC-120V 60 Hz Power consumption: 8W #3504 HEATED NEST BOWL 10 1/2 in.

I am impressed with the quality of these bowls. very substantial with a heavy cord. They only draw 8 watts, so I can plug several into an outlet. Our winter has been mild so far but they will give me piece of mind when it does turn cold. The smaller size might have been enough but I am happy with these. If you have small nest boxes they might be overkill.
Portuguese Tumblers do not sit on there babies after 6-10 days after hatching, these nest bowel warm to the perfect temp. to keep the babies from getting chilled on those nights in the 30's
